    Meet the Tech: Python (FREE)

March 28, 2017 • InMotion Hosting, Los Angeles, CA • Learn more

Have you heard people talking about Python and you wonder what it is and if you should learn it? Tried to look it up online and found yourself lost in an explanation that sounded like this: “interpreted, object-oriented, high-level programming language with dynamic semantics”? WHAT?

In this session, presenter Arthi Rad will present a beginner-friendly introduction to Python. You’ll learn what it is, what it can be used for, see a few examples of what the language looks like, and you’ll see a few demos of things built using Python. You’ll also have plenty of opportunity to ask questions, too!

    Introduction to PHP and MySQL

April 1, 2017 • IndieDesk DTLA, Los Angeles, CA • Learn more

PHP was one of the first and still is the most popular language on the web for building dynamic websites without having to compile code. As a server-side language, PHP allows authors to retrieve data from any database, manipulate it, and display it on the web, enabling users to interact with it. To date, PHP powers millions of websites including Facebook, Etsy, and the most popular CMS applications, like WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal.

This course is an introduction to PHP meant for budding programmers. A familiarity with basic HTML and CSS is required.
