Upcoming Events

Here are some upcoming events that we're involved with:

  • Dec 7

    December Mentoring Night (FREE)

December 7, 2016 • Sony Playstation, Los Angeles, CA • Learn more

Wanting to learn to write some code, but not sure where to start? Thinking about checking out some classes, but want to know what this whole Girl Develop It thing is about? Interested in meeting some fellow coding students and some professionals already working in the field?

Then come on out to our mentoring night, nicely hosted by Sony Playstation in Culver City. You’ll get a chance to meet other members, find out about our classes and our mission, and see what classes might be the best fit for you.

  • Dec 10

    Intermediate HTML and CSS

December 10, 2016 • IndieDesk DTLA, Los Angeles, CA • Learn more

Through the course of this two-part class, you’ll get a thorough introduction to HTML5 and CSS3 to build on your previous knowledge. You’ll get hands-on experience working with HTML5 features like semantic elements and forms, and you’ll learn new CSS3 properties and abilities including transformations and transitions. Finally, we’ll dig into responsive design and browser compatibility.

You’ll leave with readily-applicable skills and we’ll be there to answer any questions you may have along the way!

To get the most out of this class, you should have a working knowledge of basic HTML and CSS. You may have taken Intro to HTML through Girl Develop It, or maybe you have built a site for fun.

  • Dec 15

GDI Mar Vista Study Group (FREE)

December 15, 2016 • Coffee Connection, Los Angeles, CA • Learn more

Join other GDI students who are learning front-end web development – HTML, CSS, and/or JavaScript/jQuery. All levels are welcome, so whether you’re just getting started with your first HTML class or whether you’ve got the basics down and are moving into intermediate or advanced territory, you’re welcome to attend! Beginners are especially encouraged to attend and participate in study groups – it will really help you to grasp new concepts and push your skills to the next level.

GDI Study Groups are relaxed and informal, and are intended as a way for our community to work and play together while providing each other with ongoing support and feedback. Hang out with like-minded students for an evening. This is not a hackathon or an advanced meetup – this is a relaxed place for all of our students to spend time coding together. We’re very friendly and would love to have you join us!
